Appendix carry isn’t for everyone.

For some people, carrying farther back around the waist simply feels better. It keeps the front of the waistband clear, positions the firearm naturally along the body, and gives you another way to balance comfort, concealment, and accessibility.

That’s why we built the Prometheus.

Designed specifically for traditional strong-side IWB carry, the Prometheus gives you the freedom to choose the carry angle and attachment system that work best for you—without adding features you don’t need.

Why Carry Angle Matters

The farther a holster moves around your waist, the more important its angle becomes.

A forward cant raises the grip and helps it follow the natural shape of your body. That can improve concealment, make sitting more comfortable, and create a more natural draw from behind the hip.

Choose the setup that fits how you carry:

0° Cant
A neutral, straight-up position for those who prefer minimal forward angle.

15° Cant
A versatile strong-side setup that works well for many carriers and provides a natural balance of concealment and accessibility.

30° Cant
A more aggressive forward angle that can help the grip follow the body when carrying farther behind the hip.

Adjustable Cant
Not sure what works best yet? Choose the adjustable option and experiment with different carry angles until you find the position that feels right for you.

If you already know what you prefer, choose a fixed cant for a cleaner, simpler setup. If you’re still figuring it out, adjustable cant gives you room to experiment.

Choose the Hardware That Fits Your Priorities

There isn’t one belt attachment that works best for everyone. Choose the attachment style and size that best match the belt you normally wear.

Standard Clip

A simple, dependable attachment that makes the holster easy to put on and remove.

1.5” Clip: Designed for most standard EDC and everyday belts up to 1.5” wide.

1.75” Clip: Provides additional clearance for wider belts up to 1.75”, including many heavier EDC and duty-style belts.

For the best fit and stability, choose the clip size that most closely matches your belt width.

DCC Monoblock

A low-profile spring-steel attachment with excellent belt retention when minimizing bulk is the priority. Its compact design grips the belt securely while keeping the attachment system streamlined.

1.5” DCC Monoblock: Designed for belts up to 1.5” wide.

1.75” DCC Monoblock: Designed for wider belts up to 1.75”.

Choose the size that most closely matches the belt you normally wear.

Soft Loops

Soft loops provide a flexible attachment that wraps completely around the belt and accommodates belts from 1.5” up to 2” wide.

They secure using directional Pull-the-DOT® snaps. Unlike a traditional snap, Pull-the-DOT snaps are designed to release from one direction only, helping prevent them from opening unintentionally during normal use.

To put the holster on or take it off, the loops must be manually opened, wrapped around the belt, and snapped closed again. They are not designed to simply slide over the belt like a standard clip.

Soft loops are a particularly versatile option if you regularly switch between belts of different widths.

Each attachment has its own advantages. Choose the one that best fits how you carry.

Optional ModWing

A ModWing can provide additional grip rotation by pressing against the belt and helping draw the grip closer to the body.

Because the ModWing is primarily optimized for appendix carry, its effectiveness during strong-side carry can vary depending on body type, belt setup, carry position, and cant.

If you already know that a wing works well for your setup, the option is there. If not, the Prometheus is designed to work as a clean strong-side holster without one.

Adjustable Retention

Your holster includes adjustable retention so you can fine-tune how tightly it holds your firearm.

Locate the retention screw near the trigger-guard area of the holster. Turn the screw clockwise to increase retention or counterclockwise to decrease retention.

Make adjustments in small increments—about a quarter turn at a time—and check the fit after each adjustment. Avoid overtightening the hardware.

Always perform retention adjustments and fit checks with the firearm unloaded.

Built Around Your Firearm

Each Alpha holster is designed around the specific firearm model selected when you place your order. The shell, trigger-guard geometry, sight channel, ejection-port area, and retention points are all built around that particular platform.

This allows us to produce a cleaner fit and more consistent retention instead of designing around a broad range of loosely compatible firearms.

Your holster is designed specifically for the firearm model you select—it is not a one-size-fits-all holster.

The technical details matter.

But only because they help the holster do what it’s supposed to do:

Stay comfortable. Stay secure. And be there when you need it.

Sweat Guard

The sweat guard is the portion of the holster that extends upward between the firearm and your body.

Its purpose is to help create a barrier between your skin and the firearm while also helping guide the firearm back into the holster during reholstering.

Low Sweat Guard: Minimal material above the trigger-guard area for customers who prefer the most open access to the firearm.

Mid Sweat Guard: A balanced option that provides additional coverage while keeping the rear of the slide and controls relatively accessible.

Full Sweat Guard: Extends higher along the slide for the most coverage between the firearm and your body.

There isn’t one sweat-guard height that works best for everyone. Choose the option that best fits your comfort, carry position, and personal preference.
